It’s Time to Strike the Ground

A few weeks ago I wrote about how God speaks to us on repeat. For a few weeks I have heard the words “ STRIKE THE GROUND.” The first time I heard these words was when I was listening to a teaching by my mentor Jennifer Eivaz. I heard it again in my spirit. Lastly, I saw it in a post on facebook. REPETITION!!! God was speaking.

So I went to scripture and looked up the words and of course there is scripture related to these terms.

Let’s go to 2 Kings 13: 14-19

The prophet Elisha was sick with a fatal disease, and as he lay dying, King Jehoash of Israel went to visit him. “My father, my father!” he exclaimed as he wept. “You have been the mighty defender of Israel!”

15 “Get a bow and some arrows,” Elisha ordered him. Jehoash got them, 16 and Elisha told him to get ready to shoot. The king did so, and Elisha placed his hands on the king's hands. 17 Then, following the prophet's instructions, the king opened the window that faced toward Syria. “Shoot the arrow!” Elisha ordered. As soon as the king shot the arrow, the prophet exclaimed, “You are the Lord's arrow, with which he will win victory over Syria. You will fight the Syrians in Aphek until you defeat them.”

18 Then Elisha told the king to take the other arrows and strike the ground with them. The king struck the ground three times, and then stopped. 19 This made Elisha angry, and he said to the king, “You should have struck five or six times, and then you would have won complete victory over the Syrians; but now you will defeat them only three times.”

So here we see the prophet Elisha and he is dying, but gives King Jehoash instructions regarding the battle against the Syrians. So as a prophetic act, Elisha had the king to shoot some arrows to the ground as a sign of things to come when they fight the Syrians.

The arrows represented the sure victory that the King would have against his enemy, but he only shot the arrows three times. The prophet let him know he did not shot the arrows enough.

We strike the ground with our arrows (prayer) until we see the enemy fall (situation). God has given us the tools that we need, but we can’t quit or give up until we see the situation change.

This is a spiritual battle and our enemy wants us to give up before the battle is over. He wants us worn out and tired. King Jehoash had the Prophet Elisha for instructions, but we have the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will give you instructions in the fight and provide balance.

The key here is this-WE HAVE SURE VICTORY!!!

God has already won the battle for us. We just have to stay in faith and strike the ground.

You are not defeated. You are a winner. When the enemy brings you lies, Strike the ground. You are not sick. The Word says, “By His stripes, you are HEALED.” Strike the ground. You will never come out of debt. The Word says, “The Lord shall supply all my needs accourding to His riches in glory.” Strike the ground. No matter what the lie is “STRIKE THE GROUND.”

Prayer:

Lord, you are Holy and Righteous. You go before us and you fight our battles, we are victorious because of you. Lord, give us instructions and the blueprint for our battles. In the natural things don’t look good, but you see what we don’t see, so we proclaim what your Word says and we will STRIKE THE GROUND until every demonic assignment against us falls to the ground. We wage war and you have already said, “No weapon formed will prosper.” Isaiah 54:17 ESV

So we declare victory even though we don’t see it in the natural. It is OURS. In the Mighty Name of Jesus.

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.” Psalm 138:7 ESV

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 ESV
